Filter Maintenance

We regularly perform maintenance on your pool filter depending on the type of filter you have and the amount of debris that your pool receives during the season. That may include cleaning your filter or regularly backwashing your filter to flush out debris.

Filter Cleaning

For cartridge and diatomaceous earth (DE) filters, cleaning is typically performed every 4-6 months. Heavy-use pools and pools surrounded by heavy vegetation may require more frequent cleaning to maximize their filtration performance.

We regularly perform filter cleanings to ensure your filters are able to effectively filter out dirt and debris while also maximizing water flow through your pool’s system.

Filter Backwashing

Sand filters do not require frequent cleaning; however, much like DE filters, they do need to be backwashed frequently (roughly every 2-4 weeks for sand filters, 4-6 weeks for DE filters) to flush out any debris the filter has picked up.

We perform regular backwashing of your pool filter during our service visits to ensure it is performing at its highest filtration capacity.
